Ohlone Curriculum for Teachers

Because the Ramaytush Ohlone of the San Francisco Peninsula lost nearly all of their culture and language--we only have about 200 words recorded--we suggest that teachers use the curriculum developed for the Ohlone peoples of the East Bay as a substitute in lieu of one based on Ramaytush Ohlone culture.  (Grade 6)

Living with the Land
Living with the Land allows students to explore human relationship with the natural world from the perspective of Ohlone Indigenous knowledge and contrasting western science approaches. By observing the wetland’s past and present, students learn about what wetlands provide and how humans impact this habitat.
